According to selling agent Kylie Loof, from LJ Hooker Redcliffe, the previous owner decided to put the home on the website and bookings came flying in.“She just thought she would try it out and then they were booked out for the rest of the year,” Ms Loof said. The previous owners quickly had the home booked out for the year. The home sold recently for a cool $1.5 million, which was the highest residential sale across the Redcliffe area for the week.“It was one of the bigger homes. This is seven bedrooms, most of them are about four bedrooms,” Ms Loof said.It has its own pontoon and easy access to the bay. Ms Loof said canal properties were popular with boat owners because of the money they could save on mooring fees, which can be several thousands of dollars each year. The owners of this Newport home made a killing just by listing it on Airbnb.A Newport home is not only eye-catching, it can also earn six figures a year. The recently sold seven-bedroom home at 14 Constance Court was marketed for the dollars it can fetch from cashed-up travellers on Airbnb.
Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Leroy Sane were on target to inflict a third straight defeat on Arsenal and leave them 10 points adrift of the Premier League top four in sixth place. And a night to forget for Arsenal was complete when £56 million ($79 million) club record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw his second-half penalty saved by Ederson.By contrast, City’s cruise towards the title continues unabated despite again not needing to hit the heights of their displays earlier in the campaign to up the pressure on Wenger’s position once more.Sub-zero temperatures and the apathy caused by Arsenal’s display at Wembley on Sunday saw thousands of seats go unoccupied at the Emirates. The lines around the pitch were painted blue ahead of kick-off in case an expected snow shower covered the field.Unfortunately for the home fans that did brave the cold, that was the only novelty on a night of familiar failings from Wenger’s men, who have now lost seven times in 12 games this year.Arsenal had even started the brighter as Ederson prevented Vincent Kompany turning into his own net before Henrikh Mkhitaryan stung the palms of the Brazilian goalkeeper with a drive from the edge of the box. However, they never recovered from the sucker punch of City’s opener on 15 minutes as Sane weaved away from three Arsenal challenges on the left and teed up Bernardo Silva to cut inside onto his favoured left foot and curl into the top corner. That’s my boy: Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola and striker Sergio Aguero© AFP Glyn KIRKEderson produced two more decent stops from Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey before City showed their more clinical touch in the final third just before the half hour mark.Sane was again involved before Sergio Aguero played in David Silva to slot home at Petr Cech’s near post.City then exhibited their speed on the counter-attack for a third five minutes later as Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker combined to set up Sane to tap home his 12th goal of the season. The third goal was the cue for many of those Arsenal fans who did show up to leave, whilst the delighted travelling City fans taunted Wenger by pleading for the Frenchman to extend his 22-year reign in charge.Aguero was looking for his 200th City goal and should have had it before half-time when his shot from De Bruyne’s cut-back was placed too close to Cech.Arsenal’s anguish was rounded off seven minutes into the second period when Nicolas Otamendi chopped down Mkhitaryan inside the area.Aubameyang took responsiblity from the spot, but the lack of conviction in his penalty reflected Arsenal’s performance as Ederson saved comfortably low to his left.Aguero was made to wait for his double century in City colours by a wonderful save from Cech before the Argentine was handed a rest for the final eight minutes. However, City’s wait for a fifth league title won’t last long with a maximum of just five more wins needed from their remaining 10 games.0Shares0000(Visited 1 times, 1 visits today) 0Shares0000David Silva celebrates scoring City’s second goal with team-mates. Why IoT Apps are Eating Device Interfaces sarah perez Mobile analytics firm Distimo has just released its year-end report summarizing the figures, statistics and changes which occurred in the mobile application ecosystem during the course of 2010. The report looks at the major mobile platforms of the day, including iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android, BlackBerry, Nokia, Palm and Windows (6.x and Windows Phone 7).Some of its findings are more obvious than others (e.g., free apps are downloaded in higher numbers than paid apps), but other tidbits of data may give developers pause as they consider how best to monetize their mobile applications. For example, developers may be surprised to hear that the revenue earned from in-app purchases within high grossing free apps more than doubled during the 2010, suggesting a new trend in app monetization.Growth by the NumbersIn looking at the absolute number of applications, Apple’s App Store grew the most in 2010, doubling its last-year’s total to almost 300,000 apps by year-end (excluding the iPad store). But in terms of percentages, the runners-up did better. Google’s Android Market is now 6 times the size it was last year. (For what it’s worth, Distimo pegs that size at 130,000 applications, although the third-party application monitoring service at AndroLib.com found there to be 200,000 earlier in December. This number was widely reported, often without noting that AndroLib counts everything, even apps that are no longer on the Market.)RIM’s BlackBerry App World and Nokia’s Ovi Store also tripled their growth over the year, growing to 18,000 apps on BlackBerry App World and 25,000 apps on Ovi. Tags:#apps#mobile#Trends Related Posts Average App PricesThe average price of paid apps on the four top platforms (iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Nokia) declined in 2010. Distimo found that price drops could be observed in the 100 most popular applications, even though the percentages differed. With the exception of the Android Market, the average listing price is lower now than it was in January 2010.The average price between all apps and just the top apps shows slightly different trends, however. On BlackBerry, the price of top apps is significantly lower than all paid apps, something which is also happening to a lesser extent in the Apple App Store (for iPhone). In Google’s Android Market and Nokia’s Ovi Store, the top apps are more expensive than the average price for all paid applications. As 2010 progressed, all four stores became more in line with each other. Here, there was a shift towards the lower price tiers where the $1.00-$1.99 tier gained popularity across the board. In-App PurchasesThe share of revenue generated by in-app purchases climbed steadily over the course of the year, says Distimo. Also, when comparing June to December, the share of revenue generated by in-app purchases more than doubled on both iPhone and iPad. However, in-app revenue is smaller on iPad (15%) than iPhone (34%). Role of Mobile App Analytics In-App Engagement Free vs. PaidObviously, free apps do well in terms of downloads. Says Distimo, the high download volume has convinced many developers to switch monetization methods from paid to something else. The number of free apps in Apple’s App Store (for iPhone) and Nokia’s Ovi Store both skyrocketed in 2010, but the extreme difference in Ovi’s case may be attributed to the unavailability of operator billing in a number of Nokia’s markets.Download VolumeIn the U.S., the top 300 free apps generated over 3 million downloads each day during December 2010, while only 350,000 paid apps were downloaded daily. However, those paid app download numbers still represent a 30% increase from June 2010. (Data excluded downloads after Christmas, to obtain a more “normal” view of the numbers). Note that Google’s Android Market introduced many new categories during the year, which is why Application-Health’s growth is lower than the average. For more details on the rankings of individual applications per platform, you can see Distimo’s report here. Growth Categories per StoreDistimo noticed that during 2010, there were more business-oriented applications available for iPhone, reflecting the switch occurring in many workplaces where employees are now allowed to use the iPhone instead of whatever mobile phone the company’s I.T. department had previously recommended or enforced. Outside of the workplace, more people are using the iPhone as a productivity tool.Meanwhile, the business-friendly BlackBerry platform saw its App World receiving more entertainment-focused applications, as it tries to shift in the other direction, towards being a more consumer-friendly product.Android Market and Nokia’s Ovi Store saw more balanced category growth. Home Minister P ChidambaramThe government on Tuesday flaunted figures of scaled-down violence in 2011 to claim that its “two-pronged strategy” to tackle Naxalism is bearing fruit.Union home minister P. Chidambaram said the number of people killed in Maoist violence has seen a drop of over 40 per cent in 2011 from the corresponding period last year. Chidambaram revealed the figures after meeting chief ministers of Chhattisgarh and Orissa, Raman Singh and Naveen Patnaik, respectively. In the past month, 34 security personnel have lost their lives in Chhattisgarh in Maoist-related violence. But Chidambaram stressed on Tuesday that only 80 policemen have been killed by Maoists this year as compared to 177 personnel slain in the same period in 2010.Civilian casualties, too, have come down. The home minister said 190 civilians were killed by Maoists this year (compared to 296 last year). Of these 190, 72 were branded as police informers by the Maoists.Chidambaram also said seven out of the 14 politbureau members of the CPI (Maoist) and 11 members of its central committee had been arrested.”Our security forces have confronted the challenge of Left-wing extremism with courage and restraint. So far, 78 extremists have been neutralised, 883 have been arrested, 243 have surrendered and 315 arms have been recovered,” Chidambaram said. The home minister, though, was quick to add that even the present level of Maoist violence was unacceptable.Sources said the home ministry has approved sending 5,000 more paramilitary men to monitor the Chhattisgarh-Orissa border area, a hotbed of Maoist activity.Chidambaram also revealed how the government planned to develop its two-pronged strategy. “Under the Integrated Action Plan for which Rs 55 crore has been allotted to each of the 60 affected districts, 18,724 works have been taken up in Chhattisgarh and 10,427 works have been taken up in Orissa; a chunk of these works have been completed,” he said.advertisementFor more news on India, click here. For more news on Business, click here. For more news on Movies, click here. For more news on Sports, click here.

Having played a few match-winning knocks already, the wicketkeeper-batsman has collected 156 runs from six matches and has remained unbeaten on three of those occasions.advertisementCan CSK better away record in Jaipur?Chennai Super Kings also enjoy a superior head-to-head record against Rajasthan Royals as the three-time champions have won 13 of their 21 meetings. On the other hand, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan have found more success, winning four of their six clashes. However, former champions Royals have played some ordinary cricket in IPL 2019 and are only placed above Royal Challengers Bangalore in the points table with just one win from five matches. The Royals were crushed by 8 wickets at home by Kolkata Knight Riders on April 7 which was also their second defeat in three home games this season.Watson, Jadeja eye milestones in battle vs former teamApart from MS Dhoni, a couple of other Chennai Super Kings players are also nearing personal landmarks in IPL.Shane Watson, who has been struggling to replicate last year’s form for CSK, needs another 31 runs to complete 1,000 T20 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. It was explained in a government issued media release on Monday afternoon that, “The first set of meetings were to be held today, 8th August, 2016, but was re-scheduled by one of the attorneys, who had prior commitments. The said conciliation sessions will be held later this week. Each employee’s claim will be dealt with fairly, with the primary aim of securing any entitlements owed to them.”The men were disappointed in the initial reaction to their outcry, but it appears agitation and media exposure has turned the tide so that they are at least now getting a serious audience with Labour officials. It is also said that Price Club supermarket recently fell into liquidation. As a result their workers were presented with letters of redundancy. After these letters were received, the employees filed disputes with the Employment Services Department and contracted two law firms to represent them. The men promise to appear outside the Leeward Highway grocery store until they get paid. There was a protest on Monday morning, the men also reportedly sought advice at the Haitian consulate and have been supported in their efforts by PDM Campaign Manager, Dwayne Taylor. Pep Guardiola oddly praised Jose Mourinho and expressed his admiration for the Portuguese manager, something that rarely happens.Something very strange is happening between Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho after ten years of rivalry, both managers are finally starting to give in and praise each other and they both understand that they are two of the best managers ever.Ahead of this Sunday’s crucial Manchester Derby between City and United, both coaches have been doing the rounds with the press and they both have stated some very interesting thoughts about their opponents.Jose Mourinho just said this week, that Manchester City’s current form and their season has been nearly perfect and we still hadn’t heard a proper response from Pep Guardiola.Well, the manager started his round of responses last Friday with the press conference he offered in the morning. At first, Pep was questioned about the press not talking about external topics that weren’t related to football when it came to Guardiola and Mourinho.Once the journalist mentioned this, everybody realized how true this was and how influential the game can be when it’s done properly.England has been known for this characteristic mostly, they rarely talk about topics that have nothing to do with football and any manager loves that. It’s all set for another high-profile battle between Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho tomorrow. Who will come out on top in the #ManchesterDerby? pic.twitter.com/t5cvSSPamy— SuperSport (@SuperSportTV) November 10, 2018As the question was being asked to Pep Guardiola, the Catalan manager’s expression kept changing to a more relaxed state and simply responded with a: “Thank you so much. Thank you,” said Pep via Goal.“At the end we are both good guys, more than you expect. It’s much better, believe me.”Right after that honest answer, Guardiola proceeded to praise the victory that Manchester United had at Juventus’ Stadium a few days ago in the Champions League.“No team wins in Turin in the last nine years, how strong Juventus are. They had a problem for 10 minutes after Cristiano’s goal but they were so stable with a lot of commitment, aggressive without the ball. A few weeks ago at Stamford Bridge [against Chelsea], one of the toughest places, they almost won,” he continued.“It’s always complicated. In our history of Manchester City it’s hard to beat United and they beat us more times but it’s a good rivalry and a good chance for three points.”Report: City are stunned by Norwich George Patchias – September 14, 2019 Manchester City was stunned by Norwich City in todays Premier League clash.Much has been made in recent days of the potential impact of Aymeric…“We will try especially to have a good game. We’ll speak with the players about what we guess will happen and suggest what we should do to win the game.”“We have to play good, only one challenge in football is to play good, and have more chance to win. The top teams, you cannot imagine and think about it, play amazingly for 90 minutes and they don’t have chances.”#PL 🏴 I Guardiola – Mourinho, próximo asalto 💥 https://t.co/nCZKU4zPeU pic.twitter.com/yjA2Nx1MT0— Diario SPORT (@sport) November 10, 2018But the praise wasn’t over from Pep Guardiola, members of the media asked him about the level of admiration he has for Jose Mourinho. To those who don’t know, both managers actually shared time together as player and assistant manager at FC Barcelona during the Bobby Robson days and they actually became very good friends. The rivalry between them during the Spanish football may have gotten a little out of hand and distanced them a little, but neither of them forgot their roots.“Of course. I admire not just Jose, but all the managers — especially when they have tough problems,” he continued.“The situation in which Jose lives, I lived in for some period in the past myself. But I want to beat other managers, it is not necessary to be friends. When they suffer I know I will be in the same position sooner or later.”“We are both in a similar position in that the expectation on us is so high. “We either win or we fail, always. We have to win all the titles we play for.”“If you are stable and you know what you have to do, the success and the good games are always coming up. Always. Especially at the good clubs,” he concluded.Ronaldo humiliating an unrecognisable Guardiola and Mourinho pic.twitter.com/qcve2Cv6JS— Celebutante (@CeIebutante) November 10, 2018What do you think about the admiration that Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho feel for each other?
