Former England Under-21 manager Peter Taylor believes Harry Kane, Danny Ings and Saido Berahino can fire Gareth Southgate’s side to European glory.Taylor, who has managed the Under-21 squad on two occasions, insists the competition can be won if the trio continue their Premier League goalscoring form, with England probably facing their toughest challenges in the group stages. The 62 year-old said: “If Harry Kane, Danny Ings and Saido Berahino all score, we have a good chance.“We’re in the toughest group, there’s no doubt about it.“If you look at the other group, with the likes of Czech Republic, Serbia and Germany, you’d probably prefer to be in that one as our group is really tough.”Kane’s inclusion in the squad came as a surprise due to his role with the senior side and his busy schedule with Tottenham, but Taylor believes that if he, and anyone in Southgate’s team play well, then a phone call from Roy Hodgson will soon be on the horizon. He told the Sunday Scoreboard: “I’m quietly confident we will have a good tournament and then the players that play well will be in Roy Hodgson’s mind.“There used to be a lot of older players but now there are a lot more younger players so that if you’re in the Under 21s, there’s a fair chance your team-mate is in the senior team and it’ll give you more confidence knowing that they could be picked if they have a good tournament. The recent wave of scam foreign calls has developed further to target customers with seemingly Irish mobile numbers. There has been an increase in calls coming from a +387 or ‘087’ country code, which is identified as Bosnia and Herzegovina on iPhones. These phone scams, which have previously come from Pacific and African countries, are designed to trick people into calling the number back. The phone user is then charged premium call rates. Donegal Councillor Gary Doherty has shared an alert over the new number, warning people about the convincing code with a specific number: +38765562819Cllr Doherty said: “As usual with these calls, they will ring and then hang up in the hope that unsuspecting victims will call back to what is a premium line which will eat your credit. Best advice is to ignore these calls or even block the number so you don’t get any more.”Ireland’s communications regulator ComReg advises the public that scam calls can take on many forms and consumers should be extra vigilant.ComReg advises taking the following precautions: • Avoid answering calls from numbers that you cannot identify, especially if you are not expecting a call.• Hang up immediately, on calls where there appears to be no recipient on the other end.• Be wary of multiple calls being received from the same number.• Do not call back any number that leaves you a blank voicemail message.• Do not provide any personal information for example – banking details/PPS number/credit card details/name and address/passport number etc.Unfortunately there is no way to identify a scam call number, and they can resemble a very normal, familiar, geographical number that we would come across on a daily basis, according to ComReg guidelines.Have you received calls from this number recently?
